BENEFITS OF SOOTHE STRETCH
IN YOUR OFFICE
Regular stretching benefits anyone, from those who are at a computer all day to those who are constantly physically active. It also benefits people of all athletic abilities and sizes.
First and foremost, stretching helps muscles recover from whatever physical demands a body undergoes - ranging from sitting stiffly all day to lifting heavy loads. Stretching alleviates pain, speeds recovery, and increases circulation and range of motion.
Assisted stretching allows a therapist to target particular muscles and joints that can’t be activated with solo stretching. Helping an employee stretch based on his or her personal needs increases both physical and mental function, simultaneously energizing while destressing.
Typically, stretching sessions are 15 minutes long.
Comfortable clothes that don’t restrict your motion are ideal. However, if you are not able to do so, your therapist will work around whatever clothes you’re wearing. You’ll still receive the benefits of stretching while remaining comfortable - not even pencil skirts will derail our therapists.
Expect your therapist to communicate with you constantly. Talking during a session helps your therapist tailor exercises to your individual needs, and ensure that you know how each stretch should (and shouldn’t!) feel. The therapist may also suggest exercises you can do on your own to continue optimizing your health.
Stretch sessions are done on a massage table, or occasionally standing, depending on your physical abilities and goals. Your therapist guides your stretches, but you are in charge of the session as a whole.
Yes, you can have both stretch and massage offerings during your workplace’s appointment. However, massage and stretch cannot be combined into one session. Massage and stretch are booked through two separate contracts, and performed by different therapists.
