Safety has always been one of Soothe’s core values, and we pride ourselves on always offering a safe massage experience at home. With the recent, devastating effects that the coronavirus has had on our society, we knew that we had to go above and beyond the massage industry’s existing safety standards to ensure the trust and safety of everyone using our platform as we start to reopen. We worked with a team of experts to determine the best course forward, utilizing information and data from the CDC and local health officials, and are excited to introduce Soothe Safe™, our comprehensive program to protect the most important part of Soothe — YOU.
Soothe Safe involves a 10-point checklist of items we are asking of our community to ensure that everyone is safe and secure when booking through Soothe. Here are the key points:

What Soothe Safe means for you
In order to keep everyone safe and healthy as we navigate the new normal, we ask that you do NOT book a session if:
- You are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (if you have questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms, please review the CDC’s symptoms guide)
- You have traveled internationally within the last 30 days
- You or anyone in your household is aware of exposure to COVID-19 within the last 30 days; or
- You or anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 or been told by a medical professional to presume you or the person in your household has COVID-19 (unless you or the person in your household have been cleared by a doctor to discontinue self-isolation OR you or the person in your household have not experienced any COVID-19 symptoms within the past 2 weeks)
Once Soothe has reopened in your area, and you book an at-home massage with a Soothe therapist, there are a few additional steps we are asking of all our clients to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. In preparation for a session, please:
- Provide a kitchen sink, powder room, or bathroom for the therapist to wash his/her hands at the beginning and end of the massage therapy session
- Keep children, pets and others 6 feet away from the massage table and the therapists’ belongings to follow social distancing protocols
- Shower before your appointment
- Have a hand towel ready to sneeze or cough into, or wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth
- Offer to use your own freshly-laundered sheets if you prefer
Soothe Safe policies for therapists
In addition to the 500+ hours of required training, rigorous vetting processes and background checks, we require for all massage therapists in the Soothe network, massage therapists will be taking additional steps to promote a safe experience. All Soothe therapists will be required to wear a face-covering for the duration of the session, as well as thoroughly sanitize and clean all their equipment and change clothing between appointments.
